Clinical Trials

For years, Windsor Dermatology has worked with pharmaceutical companies developing new treatments for dermatologic conditions. These treatments are made available to patients through participation in clinical trials. Clinical trial participation offers patients:

  • access to the latest medical innovations
  • study medication at no cost
  • financial compensation for participation
  • the opportunity to contribute to medical research

Windsor Dermatology has participated in clinical trials for psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne, and actinic keratoses.

Patients seeking more information about participation in clinical trials should call Sandy Stokes at 609-443-4501.

Presently (April 2008) we are participating in the following clinical studies:

  • Study of the Effect of Diet in Overweight or Obese Patients with Psoriasis on Light Treatment
  • A multi-center double blind, randomized, vehicle controlled, parallel group study comparing a generic (tacrolimus) ointment 0.1% to a marketed (tacrolimus) ointment 0.1% and both active treatments to a vehicle control in the treatment of atopic dermatitis
  • Genentech Protocol ACD4412n: A phase IV randomized, double-blind placebo controlled study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of 1.0 mg/kg efalizumab in adult patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis with the involvement of the scalp
  • Genentech Protocol ACD3101: Raptiva epidemiologic study of psoriasis outcomes and safety events in patients with chronic moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (RESPONSE)
  • Abbott Protocol M06-890: A phase III, multicenter, randomized, double blind, placebo controlled study comparing the safety and efficacy of two regimens of ABT-874 to placebo in subjects with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis
